1. What makes your line of Aromatherapy products and Herbal Teas different from all of the other brands?
- We use high quality pure essential oils only from plants that are sustainably harvested. The only environmentally sensitive ingredient that we use is Rosewood and we only buy it from producers that practice sustainable farming practices.
- Our line was developed with frequent users and Professional bodyworkers in mind. We use the safest, most non-reactive versions of the essential oils in our blends and the most natural base ingredients for our products.
- It is important to know Genus and Species and Variety of the Essential Oils you are using. For example, Bergamot Essential Oil normally contains Bergapten which is phototoxic and can cause reactions if it is used on the skin before exposure to the sun. We use Bergapten-free Bergamot which is not phototoxic. Bitter Orange Essential Oil is also phototoxic, but the Sweet Orange Essential Oil that we use is not. Expressed (or pressed) Lime Essential Oil is also phototoxic, so we use Steam-distilled Lime Essential Oil which is not.
- We don't use Essential Oils that can cause side-effects such as Ylang ylang which can cause headaches and nausea, Cinnamon and Clove which can cause irritation to the mucous membranes, Lemongrass and Jasmine which can cause skin irritation or allergic reaction.
- We purchase our Essential Oils and Herbs in small quantities and make our products in small batches so our products are always fresh and bountiful.
- Our products are Made in the USA.
- Our products never contain: artificial coloring, artificial flavoring, artificial fragrances, petrochemicals, formaldehydes, mineral oil, lanolin, propylene glycol or DPG. They are 100% vegetarian and never tested on animals.
- We offer free private labeling for initial orders of $100 and greater.
2. You have so many scents - How do I know which to choose?
We recommend that most customers start with our four top-selling blends: Citrus, Comfort, Energizer, Peace (unless you have a specific focus such as pregnancy, headaches or muscle aches).
3. Why start with these scents?
By choosing these four scents, you have a good variety to suit individual's needs.
- Citrus is our lightest scent and does not contain lavender. Approximately 10% of people do not like the fragrance of lavender. Citrus is an uplifting, gender-neutral scent which is good for those who do not like heavy aromatherapy fragrance. Often, people who claim that they do not like aromatherapy do like our Citrus blend.
- Comfort is our second lightest scent and has the highest percentage of lavender. Customers that love lavender will really enjoy this scent. This scent is relaxing but not overwhelming for those who do not like heavy aromatherapy fragrance. Due to its lightness and floral overtones, Comfort tends to have a greater appeal to women.
- Energizer is a strong warming minty scent that easily permeates the whole room. Many people really enjoy mint aromatherapy. This scent also does not contain lavender for those who do not like lavender. Energizer is an invigorating, gender-neutral scent that is great for customers who really enjoy aromatherapy fragrance.
- Peace is one of our heavy scents. We refer to it as a masculine scent because it is heavy and has spicy rosemary overtones. It is reminiscent of a men's cologne. However, men and women both enjoy this scent. This scent is great for men who feel that aromatherapy might be too feminine for them.
4. What about your other scents?
Our other scents are directed more towards individual needs. We recommend these scents if you have these special needs or if you are interested in adding more variety.
- Headache Relief is excellent for customers who have frequent headaches from tension, eyestrain or computer use. Our Headache Relief herbal tea is especially effective and has been written up in Spa Magazine. Some migraine sufferers have even seen benefits from using our headache relief product line. However, since migraine headaches can have many different causes, it might not work as well for all migraines as it does for tension headaches. Headache Relief is a strong warming minty-cardamom scent that is gender-neutral.
- Mommy-to-be is pretty self explanatory. It is a medium-strong scent and all products other than the essential oil and herbal tea are blended to half-strength. This is generally recommended when using aromatherapy during pregnancy. This seems to work out quite well since most women's sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy. Mommy-to-be is a gingery-citrus scent.
- Muscle Relax is another heavy scent that we refer to as masculine. It has strong eucalyptus overtones and is wonderful for soothing aching muscles. We highly recommend this scent to anyone providing bodywork services - bodyworkers might want to substitute this for Peace as one of the four scents they carry. Men and women both enjoy this scent. This scent is great for men who feel that aromatherapy might be too feminine for them.
- Sweet Dreams is our heaviest, most relaxing scent and our fifth highest selling. With overtones of Clary Sage and Sweet Marjoram, you can practically feel your eyelids getting heavy when you smell it. Although this is a heavy scent, it is not as masculine as Peace or Muscle Relax since it is a spicy-floral scent. This scent is gender-neutral and excellent for customers who are super-stressed or having problems sleeping.
5. What is the shelf-life for your products?
- Shelf-life is guaranteed for unopened products that are stored between 50-75 degrees out of direct sunlight.
- The recommended shelf-life for most products is 18 months: Essential Oils, Massage Oils, Air Fresheners, Body Sprays, Hand & Body Lotions, Shower & Bath Gels, Liquid Soaps, Bath & Body Salts, Herbal Tea Tins.
- The recommended shelf-life for our Herbal Tea Samples is 8 months since the packaging allows the herbs to be exposed to the light which reduces the potency of the herbs.
6. What are methylparaben NF and propylparaben NF?
They are two plant-derived antimicrobial preservatives which protect against yeast and mold. They, along with butylparaben and ethylparabenare are in a group commonly referred to as "Parabens". The safety of parabens is currently under question and being investigated. Therefore, we have removed them from all of our products.
